The producers of the upcoming biopic ‘SRI’, featuring Rajkummar Rao and Alaya F, have announced a revised release date for the film. Scheduled to hit theaters on May 17, 2024, ‘SRI’ narrates the remarkable journey of industrialist Srikanth Bholla, who overcame visual impairment to establish Bollant Industries.
Joining Rao and Alaya F in the lead roles are Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar, who add depth to the narrative of Srikanth Bholla’s inspiring saga.
From facing adversity since birth to confronting legal hurdles in his pursuit of education, Srikanth’s story is one of resilience and triumph. Despite challenges, he excelled in academics, becoming the first international blind student at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Chalk N Cheese Films Production LLP are backing this project, which was initially slated for release on September 15, 2023. The decision to reschedule aims to ensure a more impactful unveiling of Srikanth Bholla’s extraordinary tale.
In addition to ‘SRI’, Rajkummar Rao has a packed slate, featuring projects like ‘Stree 2’, ‘Mr and Mrs Mahi,’ ‘Guns and Gulaabs Season 2’, and ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’, where he stars alongside Triptii Dimri. Currently, Rao is engrossed in filming in Rishikesh for one of these ventures.
