On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with a Ceremonial Guard of Honour at Sydney’s Admiralty House. PM Modi also signed the visitors’ book at the Admiralty House in Sydney.
Previously on Tuesday, PM Modi emphasized “Mutual Trust and Mutual Respect” as the foundation of India and Australia’s longstanding historical relations during an important address to the Indian diaspora at a community gathering during his Sydney visit.
In his speech at Qudos Bank Arena, Prime Minister Modi said that bilateral ties between India and Australia were earlier seen to be defined by 3Cs, ‘Commonwealth, Cricket and Curry’ after which they were defined by 2Ds, ‘Democracy, Diaspora and Dosti’ and then by 3Es, ‘Energy, Economy and Education’ as key elements. PM Modi further added that the relationship between the two countries was ‘beyond this’ and more than this “it is mutual trust and mutual respect”.
On the second day of his visit to Australia, PM Modi addressed a community event in Sydney, crediting the Indian diaspora in Australia as a driving force behind mutual respect and trust between the two countries.
India-Australia relations go beyond 3C, 3D and 3E: PM Modi in Sydney
“Earlier, it was said that India and Australia’s relation is defined by 3Cs- Commonwealth, Cricket and Curry. Then it was said that our relationship is defined by ‘Democracy, Diaspora and Dosti. Some people also said that our relationship depends on Energy, Economy and Education. But I believe that the relation between India-Australia is beyond this, it is mutual trust and mutual respect,” he went on to say in a jam-packed arena at Sydney Olympic Park.
On Tuesday, PM Modi met with business leaders from prominent Australian corporations in Sydney. During the sessions, he advocated for increased collaboration with Indian industry in areas like as technology, skilling, and sustainable energy.
