In Mungeli on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the countdown for the departure of the Congress government in Chhattisgarh has officially commenced. PM Modi confidently stated that the Congress regime in the state is destined to conclude, a certainty underscored by the outcomes of the initial phase of elections.
Addressing a campaign rally in anticipation of the second phase of voting scheduled for November 17 in Chhattisgarh, PM Modi asserted that the end of Congress’ governance marked the sounding of a bugle against their mismanagement. He conveyed, “The countdown for the Congress’ farewell has begun. It is time to bid adieu to those Congress leaders who have exploited you for five years. The public of the state is eagerly anticipating the departure of Congress. They no longer want Congress.”
The Prime Minister launched a scathing attack on Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, accusing him of widespread corruption. PM Modi highlighted the initial agreement for the Chief Minister’s position lasting two and a half years, during which Baghel allegedly engaged in extensive corruption. Assuring action against corruption if the BJP regains power in the state, PM Modi remarked, “Media reports suggest that the Chhattisgarh chief minister is on the verge of losing his assembly seat. After the BJP comes to power, corruption in Chhattisgarh will be addressed.”
PM Modi also accused the Congress of direct involvement in the Mahadev betting app scandal, posing questions about the alleged Rs 508 crore scam and demanding transparency regarding the funds received by the Chhattisgarh CM and other party leaders.
Expressing gratitude to the people of Chhattisgarh for supporting the BJP in the first phase of the Assembly polls, PM Modi emphasized that the state would experience significant development if the BJP returned to power. He promised to fulfill the aspirations of the youth, ease the lives of the Mahtari sisters, and take stringent measures against corruption.
Chhattisgarh is one of the five states undergoing elections this month, with voting taking place in two phases. The first phase concluded on November 7, and the remaining 70 seats will be contested on November 17. Vote counting is scheduled for December 3.
