The Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory urging commuters to steer clear of specific roads and intersections in the city on Wednesday during the Republic Day Parade rehearsals. Commuters are advised to avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath-Kartavyapath crossing, and Man Singh Road-Kartavyapath between 7 am and 11.30 am.

In a statement, the Delhi Police stated, “Due to Republic Day Parade rehearsal, kindly avoid Vijay Chowk, Rafi Marg-Kartavyapath crossing, Janpath-Kartavyapath crossing, and Man Singh Road-Kartavyapath crossing from 0700 Hrs to 1130 Hrs on 10-01-2024.”

It’s noteworthy that French President Emmanuel Macron is set to be the chief guest at the 75th Republic Day Parade on January 26. This marks the sixth occasion where a French leader participates as the chief guest in Republic Day celebrations in the national capital.

In other highlights, female Agniveer Vayu soldiers will be part of the Indian Air Force contingent for the Republic Day Parade, as confirmed by an IAF official on Monday. Additionally, two all-women contingents from the Defence forces are scheduled to march in the Republic Day Parade this year. The contingent, comprising 144 personnel, will include women from the Army, Indian Air Force, and Indian Navy, totaling 60 from the Army and the remaining from the Air Force and Navy, as stated by a defense official earlier.
