Tragic Bus Accident in Nepal Claims 12 Lives, Including 2 Indian Nationals

In a devastating road accident in the Dang District of mid-western Nepal, at least 12 people lost their lives, with two victims identified as Indian nationals. The incident occurred overnight at Bhalubang on Friday late at night when a passenger bus, en route to Kathmandu from Banke’s Nepalgunj, veered off a bridge and plunged into the Rapti River.

As of now, the authorities have identified eight of the deceased, which includes two Indian nationals. The victims have been taken to Lamahi Hospital for postmortem examinations. The deceased Indians are Yogendra Ram (67) from Malahi, Bihar, and Mune (31) from Uttar Pradesh.

Ujjwal Bahadur Singh, Chief Inspector of Police at the Area Police Office, Bhalubang, confirmed that 22 passengers sustained injuries in the tragic accident. The identities of the remaining victims are yet to be ascertained.

The local authorities are working to provide assistance to the injured and gather more details about the accident. The incident has brought attention to the ongoing concerns about road safety and transportation in the region.

Further investigations into the cause of the accident and additional details are awaited as the community mourns the loss of lives in this unfortunate incident.
