Two Children Brutally Murdered in Badaun, Accused Killed in Police Encounter

In a harrowing turn of events, Badaun’s Baba Colony witnessed a horrifying incident on Tuesday as two innocent children fell victim to a brutal homicide, shocking the community. Subsequently, one of the accused involved in the crime met his demise in an encounter with law enforcement officials.

Bareilly Inspector-General of Police Rakesh Kumar, addressing the media, recounted the distressing episode, stating, “This evening, an unfortunate incident took place wherein two children lost their lives. Upon police intervention, the accused attempted to flee, prompting a pursuit. In the ensuing confrontation, the accused opened fire at the police, leading to his demise in retaliatory action. The police are actively investigating the case.”

Providing details of the heinous act, the IG lamented, “The children were innocently playing on the terrace when the perpetrator, after a brief wait, ascended to the terrace and committed the gruesome act.”

Regarding the identity of the accused, Kumar mentioned, “The perpetrator is estimated to be aged between 25-30 years. Further disclosures regarding their identity will be made pending ongoing investigations.”

The tragic incident sparked outrage among locals, prompting a heavy deployment of police forces in the Baba Colony vicinity, near the Mandi Samiti outpost, to quell rising tensions.

Budaun District Magistrate (DM) Manoj Kumar addressed the community’s concerns, affirming, “Upon receiving reports this evening of the tragic event at Baba Colony near the Mandi Samiti police outpost, wherein a perpetrator entered a household and perpetrated the unthinkable against two young children, some individuals expressed agitation. We have urged them to maintain peace. The bodies have been sent for postmortem, and we assure a thorough investigation.”

Describing the victims, the DM disclosed, “The children were approximately 11 and 6 years old.”

When questioned about the motive driving such a horrendous crime, Kumar remarked, “The motive behind the murders remains unclear at this stage and will be ascertained through the course of the investigation.”
