A train in Jamtara ran over the people close to the Kalahari railway station. Numerous injuries are being reported, and at least two bodies have been found.
At least two bodies have been recovered from the collision that occurred on Wednesday near the Kalajharia railway station in Jamtara; numerous injuries are reported. Based on initial reports, the loco pilot of the Anga Express saw dust rising off the edge of the rail line and assumed that a fire had broken out; as a result, the train was stopped and the passengers got off.
The passengers who disembarked from the first train went underneath the Jhajha-Asansol Memu passenger train, which was approaching from the parallel line at the same moment.
At the scene of the accident are the police and emergency services. As more bodies are being extracted, it is anticipated that the death toll will rise.
