Explosive Australian batter Travis Head has joined the Sunrisers Hyderabad
training camp ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 season. After joining the team,
Head said that he is expecting to get runs for his team during the upcoming season
of IPL. Earlier, Travis Head played for Royal Challengers Banglore in the IPL 2017 season with the highest runs of 75.
“I am feeling good. Good to be back. Looking forward to a good season. The team looks
good. Hopefully, I can contribute some runs. I heard amazing things about the Orange Army, looking forward to playing in front of everyone. We will try to win as many games as possible. Hopefully, we will have a successful season. Can’t wait to play in front of the crowd,” Head said.
Ahead of IPL 2024, SRH released legendary batter Brian Lara and signed New Zealand spinner Danial Vettori as the head coach. They also replaced Aiden Markram and appointed Australia fast bowler Pat Cummins as captain. SRH has won only one IPL trophy so far, and that came under the captainship of David Warner in 2016. In 2018, they reached
the final under the leadership of calm and composed Kane Williamson.
This Hyderabad side released players like Harry Brook, Kartik Tyagi, Adil Rashid, Akeal Hossein, and Samarth Vyas before the IPL 2024 auction. In the IPL auction 2024, SRH bought Cummins for Rs. 20.50 Cr., and Travis Head for Rs. 6.8 Cr., Jaydev Unadkat for Rs. 1.6 Cr., and Wanindu Hasaranga for Rs. 1.5 Cr.
