UP Police Offers Reward for Atiq Ahmed’s Sister and Sister-in-Law in Umesh Pal Murder Case

Uttar Pradesh Police have issued a reward for the apprehension of Ayesha Noori, the sister of notorious gangster Atiq Ahmed, and Zainab Fatima, the wife of his brother Ashraf, both accused in the Umesh Pal murder case which occurred in February 2023 in Prayagraj.

The Prayagraj Commissionerate Police has announced a reward of Rs 25,000 each for information leading to the arrest of both individuals. Additionally, a reward of Rs 50,000 has already been placed on Atiq’s wife, Shaista Parveen.

Umesh Pal, a crucial witness in the 2005 murder case of the then BSP MLA Raju Pal, was gunned down on February 24 last year in Prayagraj by one of Atiq’s sons and his associates. Pal’s two police guards also lost their lives in the incident.

Atiq Ahmed stands as the prime accused in the murder of Umesh Pal.

The situation escalated on April 15 when Atiq Ahmed, a former mafia don turned politician, and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were fatally shot by unknown assailants while engaging with the media.

Following these events, Atiq’s son Azad Ahmed was killed in an encounter with the Special Task Force on April 13. Since then, Shaista Parveen has been evading law enforcement authorities.

The announcement of rewards underscores the efforts of Uttar Pradesh Police in their pursuit of justice and maintaining law and order in the state.
