US President Biden announces he’ll run for re-election

US Vice President Joe Biden will run for re-election to the office of President of the United States. Biden formally launched his candidature for a second term as President of the United States on Tuesday. Meanwhile, as the 2024 US Presidential elections approach, Conservative talk radio broadcaster Larry Elder has confirmed his candidature for the Republican ticket, according to The Washington Post.

“America is in decline, but this decline is not inevitable,” Larry Elder tweeted on Thursday.

“We can enter a new American Golden Age, but we must choose a leader who can bring us there. That’s why I’m running for President,” the tweet read further, as Elder announced his candidacy.

Elder joins a swelling Republican field that includes software entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, former Arkansas governor Asa Hutchinson, and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley, according to The Washington Post.

Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) announced last week the foundation of an exploratory committee; other potential candidates include Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and former Vice President Mike Pence.

According to the Washington Post, on the website for his budding presidential campaign, Elder stressed the need to battle crime, promote racial reconciliation, address inflation, strengthen the economy, and safeguard the border, among other concerns.
