USIBC Launches AI Task Force to Drive US-India Collaboration in Artificial Intelligence

The US-India Business Council’s (USIBC) Artificial Intelligence Task Force (AI-TF) has been officially launched, marking a significant milestone in fostering collaboration between the United States and India in the field of artificial intelligence (AI). The AI-TF, announced by USIBC President Ambassador Atul Keshap, aims to propel the development and commercialization of AI technologies while upholding shared values and democratic principles.

The establishment of the AI-TF comes as both countries recognize the pivotal role of AI in driving economic prosperity and societal progress. USIBC President Atul Keshap emphasized the transformative potential of AI, describing the task force as a “game-changer” amid the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence.

Key industry leaders, including Kamal Ahluwalia, President at Ikigai Labs, Todd Skinner, President of International at TransUnion and USIBC Board Chairman, and Ed Knight, Executive Vice Chairman of Nasdaq, will steer the efforts of the AI-TF. Ed Knight hailed the creation of the task force as a significant step towards fostering deeper partnerships in innovative technologies.

Partnerships were underscored as crucial by US National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan, who emphasized the importance of collaboration for building a trustworthy, safe, and secure AI enterprise. He highlighted the need for researchers to collaborate and share resources to drive cutting-edge innovations while adhering to shared values and principles.

The significance of collaboration was echoed by Xylem President and CEO Matthew Pine, who emphasized its critical role in addressing global challenges such as water scarcity. Pine highlighted Xylem’s commitment to collaboration through initiatives like the Reservoir Center for Water Solutions and expressed honor in partnering with Director Panchanathan and the US-India Business Council in announcing the AI Task Force.

The USIBC, representing hundreds of top global companies across the United States, India, and the Indo-Pacific, serves as a platform for identifying and advancing key policy priorities. With flagship offices in Washington, DC, and New Delhi, USIBC is well-positioned to drive forward the collaborative efforts of the AI-TF in advancing AI principles and promoting the responsible adoption of AI technologies.
