The Uttarakhand government intends to introduce the ‘Uttarakhand Public and Private Property Damage Recovery Bill’ during the budget session starting from February 26. This bill aims to address the issue of miscreants damaging both government and private property under the guise of protests.
According to the provisions of this bill, the losses caused during protests and strikes will be reclaimed from those responsible for the disruption. To facilitate this process, a tribunal will be established, chaired by a retired district judge, to assess and compensate for the incurred losses.
