Until 1 pm, the Telangana Assembly polls witnessed a voter turnout of 36.68%, as reported by the Election Commission of India. Notable turnout percentages were observed in various constituencies, with Adilabad at 41.88%, Bhadradri at 39.29%, Hanumankonda at 35.29%, Jagtial at 46.14%, Kamareddy at 40.78%, and Khammam at 42.93%. Additionally, Mahabubabad recorded 46.89%, Medak 50.80%, Mulugu 45.69%, and Siddipet 44.35% by 11 am.
Commencing at 7 am, voters formed long queues in both urban and rural areas of Telangana. By 11 am, the overall state turnout reached 20.64%. This election features 2,290 contestants, including prominent figures like Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Minister-son K.T. Rama Rao, State Congress President A Revanth Reddy, and BJP Lok Sabha members Bandi Sanjay Kumar and D Arvind.
In the 2018 elections, the then Telangana Rashtra Samithi secured victory with 88 out of 119 seats and a 47.4% vote share, while the Congress claimed 19 seats. Influential leaders such as Chief Minister KCR, state minister KT Rama Rao, YSR Telangana Party president YS Sharmila, BJP’s Arvind Dharmapuri, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, and AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi actively participated in the voting process, emphasizing the significance of casting votes to uphold democracy.
