Want to give credit to my parents and friends for constant support, says UPPSC topper

Divya Sikarwar, the toast of Agra after topping the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Friday, acknowledged her “proud moment” to her family members and their unwavering support. The UPPSC results were released on Friday. Eight female candidates placed in the top ten of the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission’s public exam, a first for the state’s civil services examination (UPPSC). Divya, the daughter of a retired Border Security Force officer, passed the UPPSC on her third attempt.

“I am very happy. I would attribute my success to the constant support I received from my parents, family and friends. I took online tuition for the exam. It was a very proud moment for the family. I would advise all the girls to focus on their careers and goals,” Divya told ANI.

Her beaming mother Saroj said, “I am very proud of my daughter. She worked very hard and used to study all day.”

As Divya came out on top, Pratiksha Pandey of Lucknow and Namrata Singh of Bulandshahr came in second and third place, respectively. Akansha Gupta, Kumar Gaurav, Saltanat Praween, Mohsina Bano, Prajakta Tripathi, Aishwarya Dubey, and Sandeep Kumar Tiwari rounded out the top ten. This year, 110 female candidates passed the state civil services exam. For the first time, the entire exam procedure was completed in just 10 months.

According to the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, the main test was held in Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Ghaziabad districts from September 27 to October 1, 2022. The main exam attracted a total of 5,311 students. One thousand seven hundred candidates qualified for the mains examination and are entitled to participate in the interview phase.
The selected candidates were interviewed from February 20 to March 21.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated the rank holders, saying that the record achievement of the state’s “daughters” in this examination, as well as the representation of practically every district, paints a new picture of the “new Uttar Pradesh.”

“Congratulations to all the successful candidates in the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination-2022 which were conducted by UPPSC in a transparent and fair manner in a record 10 months! The record success of the daughters of the state in this examination and the representation of almost every district is a new picture of ‘new Uttar Pradesh’,” UP CM tweeted.
