A tragic incident unfolded in New Delhi’s Shashtri Park area late Tuesday night, where a youth was allegedly murdered following a confrontation with a group of individuals. According to North East DCP Joy Tirkey, the altercation escalated into violence, resulting in the fatal shooting of the victim.
“The incident occurred around 12 am, with approximately 7 to 8 rounds of bullets fired. The victim’s brother confirmed that he was shot,” stated DCP Tirkey.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim had been involved in a previous altercation with the suspects, leading to the tragic outcome. The Delhi Police have registered a murder case and are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the perpetrators.
Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Delhi Police Special Cell successfully apprehended two individuals accused in a murder case dating back to 2016. The suspects, Kabir Nat alias Shakil Khalifa and Bablu Nat, had been evading arrest for eight years after being declared Proclaimed Offenders by the court in 2018.
Additionally, on the occasion of Holi, one individual was arrested for allegedly murdering his wife by slitting her throat in the national capital. The couple, married for six years with two young children, resided in Baldhawar Colony, Bakhtawarpur. Authorities have initiated legal procedures under Section 176 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, as the investigation into the tragic incident continues.
