Joe Biden Congratulates Donald Trump, Invites Him For A ‘Near Future’ Meet In White House

In a statement from the White House, President Joe Biden reached out to President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday to congratulate him on his election victory and extend an invitation to the White House.

The phone call, which was aimed at ensuring a seamless transition of power, underscored Biden’s commitment to unifying the nation during the upcoming transition.

During the conversation, Biden expressed his intention to work collaboratively with Trump and his administration. He stressed the importance of a smooth transition and highlighted the need for both sides to focus on bringing the country together. The White House noted that Biden is committed to fostering unity, an approach he reiterated to Trump in the call.

Biden also spoke with Vice President Kamala Harris, commending her on her historic campaign. Harris, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, made history with her candidacy, and Biden expressed his appreciation for her efforts during the election.

The White House added that Biden is scheduled to address the nation on Thursday to discuss the election results and outline the next steps in the transition process. The president’s address is expected to focus on the need for national unity and collaboration across political lines.

The transition process is expected to continue with further meetings between the incoming and outgoing administrations. Biden’s team is currently coordinating with Trump’s staff to set a date for an in-person meeting at the White House in the near future.
