‘Of Course There’ll Be No Violence,’ Says Donald Trump When Asked About Possibility Of Post-Election Chaos From His Supporters

Donald Trump, the Republican candidate in the US presidential election, expressed optimism about winning the closely fought race while speaking to the media as voters cast their ballots to choose between him and Democratic rival Kamala Harris.

When asked about the possibility of post-election violence from his supporters, Trump asserted that Republican supporters are peaceful and do not require reminders to refrain from violence.

“My Supporters Are Not Violent People”

In response to a reporter’s question about whether he would urge his supporters to avoid violence, Trump stated, “I don’t have to tell them that. I don’t have to tell them that there’ll be no violence. Of course there’ll be no violence.”

“My supporters are not violent people. And I certainly don’t want any violence, but I certainly don’t have to tell them. These are great people,” he added.

Reflecting on the events following the 2020 election, when Trump lost to Joe Biden and refused to concede due to claims of election fraud, the country saw a rise in unrest among his supporters, culminating in the storming of the US Capitol.

Trump expressed confidence in the early election results but noted that some states might take longer to count votes. He claimed there was a strong turnout from Republican voters and predicted a favorable outcome, pointing out that indicators suggested he had a significant lead.

“You know, we went in with a very big lead today. And it looks like Republicans have shown up in force. So we’ll see how it turns out. But it seems that they have really shown up in force,” Trump said.

The Election Campaign Cycle Of Trump

Looking back at his campaign, he asserted that this election cycle might be the best of the three he has run. When asked about any regrets, he said he couldn’t think of any major mistakes, reinforcing his confidence in his campaign strategy.

“You always have regrets. I can’t think of any, to be honest, to use her expression. I can’t think of any. Look, I ran a great campaign. I think it was maybe the best of the three. We did great in the first one. We did much better in the second one, but something happened. And this was the best. I would say this was the best campaign we ran,” Trump emphasized.

He also highlighted the need for unity and inclusivity, stating his intention to bring all Americans together if he wins. Acknowledging the challenges the country faces, he described the nation as being in significant trouble and in need of solutions.

The United States is headed to the polls on November 5 to elect its next president after a heated campaign between Trump and Harris. This election is regarded as one of the most fiercely contested in US history, with an unpredictable outcome.
