Pittsburgh Election Judge Resigns Over Anxiety About Kamala Harris

As the presidential race enters its final stretch, Kamala Harris supporters in Pittsburgh find themselves grappling with a mix of anxiety and cautious optimism. With the outcome still uncertain, many are holding their breath, hoping for a clear, decisive result, while bracing for the unexpected. Meanwhile, Donald Trump has already secured a win in the key battleground state of North Carolina, making the contest even tighter.

Close Contest Ahead as Trump Gains Ground in Key States

Polling shows a fiercely contested race between Harris and Trump, with early results indicating Trump pulling ahead in critical swing states. Allegheny County, which includes Pittsburgh, played a pivotal role in Pennsylvania’s 2020 outcome, where Joe Biden won with 59% of the vote to Trump’s 39%. However, this time, the race is expected to be much closer.

Pittsburgh Election Judge Steps Down Amid Growing Stress

Election judge John McNulty, a longtime veteran, announced his resignation this cycle, citing the emotional toll of recent elections. “The stress back in 2016 when we found out Trump won was overwhelming,” McNulty shared. “I couldn’t face going through that again… I’m really hoping Kamala Harris comes out on top this time.” Instead of watching the returns, McNulty chose to step away and take a stroll to avoid the tension of election night.

A City Divided: Hopeful Yet Nervous Harris Supporters

In Pittsburgh, some Harris supporters express optimism despite the nail-biting tension. “I do feel pretty confident. I voted for Kamala Harris,” one voter said. “I’m just hoping for the best but preparing for the worst,” added another. Others, like Jeremiah Jackson, are less hopeful, stating, “We’re doomed.” The mixed emotions underscore the uncertainty of the race, as voters anxiously await the results.

Pennsylvania Could Be Decisive in White House Battle

Experts agree that Pennsylvania, with its 20 electoral votes, will be a critical state in deciding whether Kamala Harris or Donald Trump wins the presidency. As the state remains a major battleground, Pittsburgh’s voters are carefully watching every development in what promises to be a tight and pivotal contest.
