Paul Rudd made an unanticipated visit to universities in Pennsylvania, offering water to students enduring long waits to cast their votes. While broadcasting live from Temple University in Philadelphia, a correspondent noticed the “Ant-Man” and “I Love You, Man” star and quickly approached him.
“Hey, Paul, I’m on live with Nicolle Wallace on MSNBC!” said the reporter before asking Rudd why he was at the voting line in Pennsylvania. “I just wanted to give people water,” Rudd responded. “They’re waiting in line for a long time, and it’s amazing to see so many young people voting.”
After the reporter mentioned that some individuals had been waiting up to two hours, to which Rudd replied, “That’s impressive.”
“We’ve been active in different places in Pennsylvania today,” Rudd continued. “We wanted to show support to these students and let them know they’re doing a great job.”
When asked how Rudd felt about the election, Rudd joked, “I feel good about handing out some waters!” The reporter then resumed interviewing voters, including a first-time voter, a young Black woman, who shared that her decision was clear from the beginning. “It’s been ready to go, out the gate,” she said. “I didn’t need to hear people talking in my ear.”
Rudd then reappeared. “Want a water from Paul Rudd?” the reporter asked. “Yes, I do!” she responded enthusiastically, handing her phone to Soboroff to take a picture of them together.
Photos shared on X showed Rudd also visiting Villanova University to support students waiting in line. In the 2020 election, Rudd had similarly gained attention for handing out cookies to voters braving the rain in Brooklyn, New York.
