Don Pettit, NASA's oldest active astronaut, begins a six-month mission aboard the ISS.

At 69, Pettit has already spent over a year in space on three missions.

Pettit launched from Kazakhstan aboard Soyuz MS-26 with Russian cosmonauts on September 11.

Expedition 72 will involve spacewalks, new spacecraft, and science investigations on the ISS.
