Elon Musk has reignited his longstanding feud with Mark Zuckerberg by declaring his readiness to engage in a physical fight with the Facebook CEO. This comes nearly a year after their plans for a “cage match” failed to materialize.
As Donald Trump arrived in Washington for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, Musk made his comments to reporters and said, “I’ll fight Zuckerberg any place, any time, any rules,” responding to a question about their potential fight.
In a Threads post, Zuckerberg, who practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu as an amateur, dismissed Musk’s remarks and asked, “Are we really doing this again?”
Musk’s comments have sparked considerable online reaction, with one X user writing: “Someone’s going to ask Zuck about this and he’s going to state the obvious and say Musk isn’t actually serious about this so it’s not worth entertaining.”
“Let’s go. Fight of the year. A true heavyweight battle,” another said.
“Looks like the tech giants are taking their rivalry to the next level! Who knew the battle for digital dominance would turn into a physical prowess,” a third user chimed in.
Last June, speculation about a potential fight between Musk and Zuckerberg emerged. During this period, both leaders exchanged jabs, particularly after Zuckerberg announced the launch of Threads, a social media platform directly competing with Musk’s X.

Accepting the challenge, Zuckerberg, an avid mixed martial arts enthusiast, instructed Musk to “send me location.” At one point, Musk even proposed that the charity match be streamed live on X.
Ahead of the anticipated fight, Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt and podcaster Lex Fridman posted pictures of his training sessions with Musk on X.
However, the highly anticipated cage match unraveled when Musk disclosed on social media that he might need surgery for a back issue from an eight-year-old injury sustained during a sumo wrestling bout.
Following several delays, Zuckerberg grew impatient and declared: “We can all agree Elon isn’t serious and it’s time to move on.”
He revealed that he had proposed a date for the bout and that UFC President Dana White had promised to turn it into a “legit competition.”
Zuckerberg criticized Musk for failing to confirm the date and for using surgery as an excuse.
“If Elon ever gets serious about a real date and official event, he knows how to reach me,” he asserted.
