Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s aircraft, which encountered technical issues, remains unresolved even after a day. The Canadian delegation, attending the two-day G20 Summit in India, was originally scheduled to return on Sunday. However, Trudeau is now compelled to extend his stay in India until the engineering team on the ground rectifies the problem, according to airport officials who spoke to the news agency.
To address the situation, a backup plane and necessary spare parts are being dispatched to India for the Canadian Prime Minister. Trudeau will either use the backup plane for his return journey or await the repair of the original aircraft, as revealed by an unnamed government official speaking to Bloomberg.
Trudeau arrived in New Delhi on Friday to participate in the G20 Summit, and he was received by Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar. The G20 Summit, held under India’s presidency, successfully concluded on Sunday.
It’s worth noting that Justin Trudeau is not particularly popular in India due to his perceived non-committal stance regarding pro-Khalistan activists in Canada.
During the G20 Summit in New Delhi, Justin Trudeau had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during which various aspects of the India-Canada relationship were discussed. Trudeau also held a press conference after the summit, addressing various issues, including the Khalistan matter. The Canadian government has repeatedly cited freedom of expression and peaceful protest as justifications for defending anti-India activities in their country.
“Canada will always defend freedom of expression, freedom of conscience, and freedom of peaceful protest and it is extremely important to us.. at the same time we are always there to prevent violence and to push back against hatred,” Justin Trudeau said.
