Dmytro Kuleba, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister, arrived for an official two-day visit to discuss bilateral ties between India and Ukraine. He expressed the visit’s objective as strengthening the relationship between the two nations and building upon a dialogue between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“I began my visit to New Delhi upon @DrSJaishankar’s invitation. The Ukrainian-Indian cooperation is important and we will be reinvigorating ties. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister will meet with External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and Deputy National Security Advisor Vikram Misri to discuss bilateral partnership and cooperation on regional and global issues. Kuleba will also interact with the Indian business community.

The visit follows a phone call between Prime Minister Modi and President Zelenskyy on March 20, where they discussed strengthening the India-Ukraine partnership and resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict through dialogue and diplomacy. President Zelenskyy appreciated India’s support and highlighted the importance of India’s participation in the upcoming international peace summit hosted by Switzerland.

In another conversation the same day, PM Modi congratulated Russian President Putin on his re-election and reiterated India’s support for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Previously, PM Modi and President Zelenskyy interacted during the G7 summit in Hiroshima in May 2023.
