At a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday, August 8, Donald Trump claimed that Joe Biden regrets choosing Kamala Harris as his running mate in 2020. Trump pointed out that Harris was the first to drop out of the Democratic primary, saying, “She had no votes, no support, and wasn’t a good debater.”
Trump went on to say, “I know he regrets it — and you do too — he picked her, and she turned on him.” He claimed that Harris was involved with those who wanted Biden out of office.
Trump also questioned how someone who got no votes and lost in the primary could be chosen as a vice-presidential candidate, suggesting it might be unconstitutional, though he wasn’t sure.
He further alleged that Harris was chosen as Biden’s running mate for political reasons or to be politically correct, despite never receiving a vote. Trump also called Harris “the most unpopular vice president.”
