Drone Attack on Netanyahu’s Residence in Caesarea Reported by Local Media

The Israeli military reported that a drone entered Israeli airspace from Lebanon on Saturday and struck the town of Caesarea. Local media quickly speculated that the drone’s target was the residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, located in the same region. The incident raised security concerns amid ongoing tensions in the region.

Military Confirms Drone Hit, No Casualties Reported
In an official statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the drone “hit a structure in the Caesarea area” but noted that no casualties were reported. The attack did not result in any significant damage to residential areas.

Netanyahu’s Safety Confirmed
A spokesperson for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later clarified that the drone was indeed launched toward his Caesarea home, as reported by Reuters. However, Netanyahu was not in the vicinity at the time of the attack, and no injuries were sustained.

Further Drone Incidents and Response
In response to the initial attack, the IDF revealed that two additional drones were intercepted, likely preventing further damage or threats. Warning sirens were activated in Glilot, north of Tel Aviv, but the military later clarified that no drone strikes occurred in that area. The IDF has launched a comprehensive investigation into the origin and purpose of the drone attack.

Drone Strike Follows Israel’s Military Success

Hamas Leader Killed in Recent Operation
The drone attack came just days after Israel announced a major military victory. Yahya Sinwar, one of the masterminds behind Hamas’ assault on Israel on October 7, 2023, was killed in a gunfight with Israeli forces. His death followed a year-long manhunt, and Israeli authorities confirmed the news on Thursday.

Sinwar had been a key figure in orchestrating Hamas’ military actions against Israel, and his death was seen as a significant blow to the militant group’s leadership.

Iran’s Reaction and Continued Resistance

Ayatollah Khamenei Reacts to Sinwar’s Death
Despite the loss of Sinwar, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei responded by asserting that his death would not weaken the “Axis of Resistance” — a coalition of forces aligned against Israel. Khamenei emphasized, “Hamas is alive and will remain alive,” reinforcing Iran’s support for Hamas and other groups in the region.

Khamenei explained that while the loss of figures like Sinwar is painful, the broader struggle against Israel would continue. The “Axis of Resistance” includes groups such as Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Yemen’s Houthi movement, and various Shi’ite factions in Iraq and Syria, all of which oppose Israeli and U.S. influence in the Middle East.
