EAM Jaishankar Meets Vietnamese PM

EAM Jaishankar hold a significant meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, conveying greetings from PM Narendra Modi and expressing his deep appreciation for PM Pham Minh Chinh’s guidance on further enhancing the India-Vietnam partnership. He emphasized that a robust India-Vietnam relationship contributes to a stable and prosperous Indo-Pacific.

Furthermore, EAM Jaishankar engaged in a productive discussion with Le Hoai Trung, Chairman of the External Relation Commission of the Communist Party of Vietnam. The meeting underscored the alignment of India and Vietnam on key regional and global issues.

EAM Jaishankar also addressed the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, sharing insights on “India in the Indo-Pacific.” He emphasized the importance of cooperation within the Indo-Pacific framework for mutual benefit, highlighted the significance of ASEAN centrality, and emphasized the contributions of the Quad.

During his visit, EAM Jaishankar unveiled the bust of Rabindranath Tagore in Vietnam’s Bac Ninh province, emphasizing the cultural ties between the two nations. He enjoyed a captivating performance by the Quan Ho Art Theater group, which is set to participate in the 9th India International Dance and Music Festival in New Delhi.

The EAM also interacted with members of the Indian diaspora and visited the Phat Tich Pagoda Buddhist Cultural Centre in Bac Ninh province, reinforcing the strong civilizational connections between India and Vietnam.

At the Phat Tich Pagoda, EAM Jaishankar met with the Most Ven. Thich Thanh Nhieu of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and appreciated the positive sentiments expressed regarding spirituality, yoga, art, and culture.

This visit highlights India’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Vietnam and fostering cultural and people-to-people exchanges.
