Elon Musk, known for his outspoken views on immigration, has responded to a controversial video showing Indian migrants taking the perilous ‘donkey route’ to enter the United States. The video, shared by the account End of Wokeness on X (formerly Twitter), depicts illegal immigrants, including Indians, making their way to US cities such as California, Texas, and New York.
In his response, Musk stated, “They’re not wrong,” noting that “the financial incentives are so strong to go to California and New York, that most of Earth should move there.” His post, which has accumulated over 37.7 million views, has sparked varied reactions among his followers.

Addressing concerns about legal immigration, Musk remarked, “Yeah, legal immigration is totally broken. Should be smooth and easy,” in reply to a user who mentioned their son was waiting for legal entry into the US.
The discussion on social media also saw comments from Collin Rugg, co-owner of Trending Politics, who criticized the financial support offered to new arrivals. He quipped, “NYC: ‘Please stop coming to our city. Also NYC: Here is free money on your new debit card.’”
In contrast, Aaron Bastani, co-founder of Novara Media, criticized Musk’s tweet, stating, “Dumb tweet.” He highlighted California’s significant economic and educational status, noting that the state’s economy would rank as the fifth-largest nominal GDP on Earth if it were a country.
Panama Deports 130 Indian Migrants
Meanwhile, Panama has recently deported 130 Indian migrants under a repatriation agreement with the US. The migrants, who had entered Panama through the treacherous Darien jungle, were flown back to New Delhi on a chartered flight. This deportation marks the first instance outside the Americas and the fourth overall under the agreement.
Roger Mojica, Panama’s migration director, and Marlen Pineiro, the US security attaché for Central America, both underscored the importance of addressing irregular migration. Pineiro emphasized that such migration patterns are unsustainable and expressed appreciation for Panama’s cooperation.
The Darien Gap, a treacherous route between Colombia and Panama, has become a major thoroughfare for migrants traveling from South America through Central America and Mexico to the US.
