Emirates Health Services’ Radiation Monitoring Lab Achieves ISO Certification: Setting The Standard For Excellence

Leveraging the established track record of achievements by Emirates Health Services (EHS), the Occupational Radiation Monitoring Laboratory at the Radiation Protection Centre has been awarded the ISO certificate, recognizing its outstanding performance in measurement and calibration.

This significant milestone underscores the international acknowledgment of the lab’s efficiency and proficiency in delivering accurate and reliable results. The lab plays a crucial role in offering essential occupational radiation monitoring services to professionals in radiation-related fields, making substantial contributions to radiation protection initiatives within the country.

This accomplishment reflects EHS’s commitment to excellence and is aligned with its strategy to develop inclusive and integrated services following the highest global standards, while also enhancing service quality and ensuring global competitiveness.

He regarded the ISO accreditation of the Occupational Radiation Monitoring Laboratory as a tangible representation of unified governmental efforts at the federal level aimed at enhancing service quality for the public and the community. Amina AlJasmi, Director of the Radiology Department at EHS, praised the laboratory for its ability to meet rigorous quality standards, embrace cutting-edge technological advancements, and enhance global competitiveness in excellence and leadership standards.

Amina elaborated that the accreditation committee conducted a thorough on-site assessment of all laboratory factors influencing technical information production. The evaluation criteria adhere to an international scale for assessing laboratories worldwide, emphasizing the laboratory’s capacity to produce precise and dependable data for tests and calibrations.

She affirmed that this accomplishment underscores the expertise of the specialized team and its effective collaboration with international entities. Maryam AlHajri, Head of the Radiation Protection Center, expressed sincere gratitude to strategic partners, represented by the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation and the International Atomic Energy Agency, for their pivotal and impactful support of the laboratory. She also emphasized that this certification will bolster the center’s standing as a primary reference in radiation protection and safety in the country.

The Radiation Protection Centre is acknowledged as a leading entity in the UAE for delivering services and consultations in radiation and radiation safety. It consistently endeavors to enhance service quality by adhering to the latest international standards and practices.
