The G7 members have shown their stern support to Ukraine and have once again called out Russia’s ‘illegal, unjustifiable and unprovoked war of aggression’ against Ukraine. The joint statement issued during the G7 Leaders Summit also stated that the leaders of the member countries are taking steps to support Ukraine amid the war with Russia.
The members condemned Russia’s violation of the Charter of the United Nations and have pledged to mobilize their policy instruments and make every effort to bring lasting peace in Ukraine, as per a report in ANI.
The G7 members then emphasized on the lives lost and the sufferings caused over the last 15 months due to Russia’s attack on Ukraine and urged the latter to stop its ‘ongoing aggression’ and withdraw its troops and military from the entire territory of Ukraine.
“Under the leadership of Japan’s G7 Presidency, together with the international community, we have ensured Ukraine has the budget support it needs for 2023 and early 2024”, the statement read, as reported by ANI.
