The General Authority of Sports (GAS) has launched the ‘Sports Talents’ platform as part of the ‘Empowerment and Sustainability of Sports Talents’ project. This online platform aims to identify 1,500 promising sports talents and provide them with the support needed to develop their skills. The initiative aligns with the ‘We the UAE 2031’ vision to create an inclusive sports environment for the Emirati community.

The ‘Sports Talents’ platform collects data and insights about sports talents from registration to empowerment. By working with sports organizations and educational institutions in the UAE, it monitors events to find and nurture talents. The goal is to connect skilled athletes with opportunities to develop their abilities.
Ghanim Mubarak Al Hajeri, Director-General of GAS, said the project aims to expand sports practices for promising talents, fostering their culture and developing a professional mindset through the platform. The initiative ensures the sustainability of sports talents and collaborates with various sectors to recognize and empower sports talents, boosting the UAE’s sports landscape.
Sheikh Suhail bin Butti Al Maktoum, Executive Director of the Sports Development Sector at GAS, said the platform will create a comprehensive database of sports talents in the UAE, accessible to all young talents. The initiative will increase events for talent discovery and empowerment, supporting athletes aiming for the Olympics and enhancing the success of Emirati athletes in international competitions. The National Sports Strategy 2031 aims to qualify over 30 Emirati athletes for the 2032 Olympic Games.
The ‘Sports Talents’ platform’s key goals include identifying sports talents by age, monitoring and documenting initiatives to empower sports talent, increasing participation in talent programs, and developing a comprehensive database of competitive sports talents. The initiative promotes collaboration among stakeholders to ensure effective sports management and corporate governance.
The initiative focuses on early identification of talents, regular assessment of progress, continuous development through training camps, and support for participation in national and international events. GAS aims to position the platform as a key contributor to national sports goals, nurturing talent through dedicated plans and programs for outstanding sports results and raising the UAE flag in various events.
The ‘Empowering and Sustaining Sports Talent’ project integrates with the ‘Talents’ project, conducting competitions, tournaments, and sports festivals to identify and expand competitive sports talent.
