Gujarat Welcomes World Bank and 21-Country Delegation to Education Review Facility

A delegation headed by Luis Benveniste, the Global Director of Education, paid a visit to the Vidya Samiksha Kendra in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, along with participants from Central African Republic, Guinea, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Togo, Benin, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The attendance numbered about sixty-five, comprising dignitaries and ministers of education from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Lyon. The events taking place in this special review center were informed to them. The first comprehensive online real-time monitoring center for school education in the nation is called Vidya Samiksha Kendra. Prime Ministers and other national and international dignitaries have paid visits to the Vidya Review Centre, which has played a major role in the dramatic transformation of the education sector.

The World Bank has adopted the Center for Education Review as a global best practice and advises other developing countries to emulate it. Additionally, in August last year, Janet Yellen, Secretary of the Treasury, the US and Ajay Banga, President, of the World Bank visited the Center for Education Review.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra collects more than 500 crore data sets every year from all school education initiatives. This huge data is then meaningfully transformed using modern technologies like big data analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to improve the norm-compliant learning outcomes of students and the state. All data sets are monitored online on a real-time basis.
Vidya Samiksha Kendra records the daily online attendance of all 1.15 crore students and all 4 lakh teachers of the state.

The center has proven to be very beneficial in assisting with all policy decisions—making decisions about school education based on data. Through the Vidya Samiksha Kendra, necessary data-based inputs are provided, and as a result, the state’s students’ learning outcomes and the education success graph are improved. Praful Pansheriya, the Gujarat Minister of Education, stated: “The World Bank is considering expanding education in other African countries. Gujarat has utilized the loan to ensure that education reaches every village. Representatives from over 20 countries came to visit Vidya Samiksha Kendra today to learn about its operations. Gujarat is making progress in the field of education. We’ll see to it that the nation’s New Education Policy is appropriately implemented.”
