Reports from Hebrew-language media indicate that the death toll resulting from the recent terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel has now surpassed 300, with expectations that this number may continue to rise, as per The Times of Israel.
Simultaneously, more than 1,100 individuals have been wounded, including many in critical condition. On Saturday morning, hundreds of Hamas gunmen infiltrated Israel, breaching multiple points along the border and overpowering what the IDF considered to be a highly sophisticated border fence, according to The Times of Israel. Hamas has claimed to have abducted numerous Israelis and taken them to Gaza, while the IDF has confirmed the abduction of both soldiers and civilians, though the exact number remains unspecified.
Additionally, numerous rockets have been launched at southern and central regions of Israel, resulting in casualties. In response to these attacks, Israel’s Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, declared that his country would take action against the rocket attacks and ensure that those responsible faced consequences to prevent further atrocities. He stated, “Israel will retaliate. Israel will go after the perpetrators and ensure they cannot carry out such acts again.”
The Israeli envoy also described the dire situation following the terror attack in the country, saying, “Early this morning, while Israeli citizens were still in their beds, Hamas, the terrorist organization from Gaza, conducted a dual attack—firing rockets at Israeli civilians and launching ground attacks by terrorists against the civilian population. They have caused the deaths of many, including children, women, and the elderly, while capturing others.”
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for India’s support of Israel, remarking, “Thank you to the Indian people and to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for your very strong moral support to Israel. We will prevail.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had previously expressed solidarity with Israel in response to the rocket strikes by Hamas, conveying India’s thoughts and prayers to the innocent victims and their families. He posted on X, “Deeply shocked by the news of terrorist attacks in Israel. Our thoughts and prayers are with the innocent victims and their families. We stand in solidarity with Israel at this difficult hour.”
