‘Illegal Immigration Saved My Life’: Donald Trump On Assassination Attempt In Interview With Elon Musk Interview On X

Billionaire entrepreneur and X (formerly Twitter) owner Elon Musk interviewed Donald Trump on his social media platform today. The interview, which was set to start at 5:30 AM IST, was postponed by over 40 minutes due to a DDOS attack, a type of cyber assault.

During the lengthy conversation, which lasted over two hours, Trump and Musk discussed in detail the assassination attempt on Trump from last month. Trump also used the opportunity to criticize his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, in the context of the 2024 US presidential race.

Musk Began the interview with asking about the recent assassination attack on Donald Trump.

Let’s start with the assassination attempt, and I must say that your actions after the assassination attempt were inspiring.

The President of the United States represents America. I think that is America… but what was it like for you?

Not pleasant. I did not know I had that much blood; the doctors later told me that the ear is a very bloody place. If you get hit there, you lose a lot of blood. In this case, it was a hard hit. I guess you may call it surreal, but it wasn’t surreal. I was telling somebody that I knew immediately it was a bullet that hit me in the ear. I also heard people shouting “bullets, bullets, get down, get down.” The miracle was that I was looking in the exact direction where the shooter hit me. For those who don’t believe in God, I think we need to start thinking about that. I am a believer now.

I have to say something about the Secret Service. When I went down, based on what I think they were screaming, and usually when gunshots happen, everybody runs, causing a stampede and a lot of people get hurt in the stampede. But nobody ran. They knew I was hurt, but they all stayed as if they wanted to be with me. The Secret Service agents came jumping on top of me despite the bullets flying, and a young lady came as well. So it’s a miracle. If I hadn’t turned my head, I wouldn’t be talking to you as much as I like to now.
