Imran Khan says Democracy in Pakistan at all time low

Imran Khan, the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister of Pakistan, declared that democracy in Pakistan is at “an all-time low,” according to ARY News.

“Democracy is at an all-time low. The only hope we have is the judiciary,” remarked Imran Khan, the leader of the PTI, in an interview with Sky News on Sunday. The coalition government, he added, was “petrified of elections” and was concerned about being “wiped out” by his party in the voting booth.

He also said “So they have decided that the only way they will allow elections is if I am inside the jail or killed. There have been two attempts on me.” while revealing that his house was raided as well when he was away.

The former prime minister condemned “all violence” when asked about violence by protesters following his arrest from the premises of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) on May 9.

Upon being questioned on violence by the protesters after being detained from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) grounds on May 9, the former prime minister referred to “all violence” as unacceptable.

PTI leader encouraged supporters to come out and save the Democracy in Pakistan

As per the reports by Pakistan-based ARY News, PTI leader encouraged them to leave their houses and assemble with a placard reading “Save Constitution, save the country” in a bid to save Democracy in Pakistan on Sunday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

He claimed that despite the court granting bail in numerous cases, the cops prevented him from leaving the Islamabad High Court (IHC) grounds. Imran said, “The police wanted to arrest me under MPO [Maintenance of Public Order] outside the courtroom.”

During his speech, Khan claimed that his supporters had always fought peacefully for 27 years. He claimed he would never forget the terrible atrocities the state inflicted on PTI members and supporters on May 25.
