Imran Khan, the leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and a former prime minister of Pakistan, claimed on Wednesday that a plot is being developed to overthrow the Punjab government led by his party.
As per media sources, at a jalsa in Chishtian, Punjab, Khan said that a new political conspiracy was developing in the nation in an effort to overthrow the Pervez Elahi-led Punjab government. He also claimed that “Mr X and Mr Y” were making threats against him.
Speaking to the gathering, the former premier made fun of PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif by claiming that, contrary to what the party maintains, London was the political capital of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).
He said that the whole Sharif family was residing in London and only travelled to Pakistan to get money. “Overseas Pakistanis work hard to give remittances to the nation but these people (PML-N leaders) take money from the country and send it overseas,” he claimed.
According to media reports, he claimed that without justice in the nation, prosperity would not exist. He also claimed to have observed huge dacoits in the National Assembly but small-time offenders in prisons.
“The biggest thieves in the nation become prime ministers. For 30 years, those in power now have been plundering the nation “He reiterated.
Khan claimed that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) was a “pet of the coalition government” once more.
In response to criticism of the Pakistan Army that he had previously made, Khan clarified, saying, “This country is my, and the army is also mine.”
According to media sources, Khan said on Tuesday that the ruling coalition was attempting to put him against the armed forces and the courts and claimed that the government is “scared of his winning the polls.”
They [the government] are urging me to concentrate on the floods and disregard politics, but I have never attempted to undermine the institutions, he claimed.
However, he said, “I will keep up my haqeeqi aazadi (genuine freedom) effort to fight these crooks at the same time.
According to media reports, he said that the administration was intentionally attempting to sow division between him and the state institutions.
“I have said that the army chief should be chosen based on merit, and I still stand by that position because it was correct. I have also said that the future army leader shouldn’t be chosen by the two crooks Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari “said the former prime minister.
Imran Khan clarified his earlier words, saying that he made them because he believed Nawaz Sharif was a criminal. Khan had previously attacked the government for postponing the elections in order to choose its own army leader. Nawaz Sharif, the leader of the PML-N, received a message from Khan saying that he was waiting for him to come back to Pakistan, according to media sources.
Khan responded, “I’m waiting for you. Come back soon. The entire nation will greet you in a way that has never occurred to anybody in the history of the country. The narrative behind Nawaz’s becoming a fugitive began ten years ago.
