India Issues ‘Advisory for Bangladesh’ Amid Rising Tensions

Amid the ongoing tension in the neighbouring country, Bangladesh, the MEA has issued an advisory. It says, “Advisory for Bangladesh:

In view of ongoing developments, Indian nationals are strongly advised against travelling to Bangladesh till further notice.
All Indian nationals presently in Bangladesh are advised to exercise extreme caution, restrict their movements and remain in contact with the High Commission of India in Dhaka through their emergency phone numbers :

Violence In Bangladesh

At least 91 people, including 14 police officers, were killed and many others injured in Bangladesh on Sunday as police used tear gas and stun grenades to disperse tens of thousands of protesters demanding Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s resignation.

The violence erupted this morning when protesters participating in a non-cooperation movement for the government’s resignation encountered resistance from supporters of the Awami League, Chhatra League, and Jubo League.
