Indo-Canadian Arrested In Shooting Incident Linked To AP Dhillon

Canadian authorities have arrested an Indo-Canadian in connection with a shooting incident at the residence of Punjabi entertainer AP Dhillon, reportedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

Details of the Incident

The West Shore detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) confirmed the arrest on October 30, following an incident on September 2, during which shots were fired at Dhillon’s residence, and two vehicles were set on fire.

Arrest of Abjeet Kingra

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra from Winnipeg, Manitoba, faces charges of discharging a firearm with intent and arson. He was apprehended in Ontario. An arrest warrant has also been issued for 23-year-old Vikram Sharma, who is believed to be currently in India.

“We will continue to pursue this investigation as well as the outstanding suspect until they have been located and arrested,” stated Superintendent Todd Preston, the officer-in-charge of West Shore RCMP.

Ongoing Investigation

While the RCMP’s release did not explicitly mention a connection to the Bishnoi gang, Canadian media have reported that AP Dhillon was targeted due to his collaboration with Bollywood actor Salman Khan. This development is notable amid allegations that Indian agents have been linked to a series of violent crimes in Canada, which resulted in India withdrawing six diplomats on October 14.

Indian media sources indicated that the Bishnoi gang’s interest in Dhillon stemmed from his professional ties to Khan, with Bishnoi’s lieutenant, Rohit Godara, claiming responsibility for the shooting in a social media post.

Previous Incidents

Earlier this year, shots were also fired at Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai, with Indian police naming Bishnoi as a suspect in that case as well.
