Israeli Embassy Requests Access To Delhi Police Shooting Range For Staff Training

Amidst rising tensions in West Asia, the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi has sought permission to use the Delhi Police shooting range for training its security personnel.

As per Indian Express, this request is currently under review, with opinions from various police units being gathered before a final decision is made.

However, the letter from the embassy did not specify the reason for the request or the number of personnel that would participate in the training sessions.

Earlier on September 23, the Delhi Police’s security division received a formal letter from the Israeli Embassy requesting access to the shooting range for practice sessions.

But, following discussions among senior police officers, the request was forwarded to the Delhi Police headquarters for a conclusive decision.

Meanwhile in light of escalating tensions in West Asia, the security unit and New Delhi district police have heightened security around the Israeli Embassy on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road. Additional security personnel and police response vehicles have been deployed in the area.

Moreover, central security agencies have also issued alerts to the Directors General of Police in all states and Union Territories, urging them to bolster security measures for Israeli and Jewish facilities, events, workplaces, Chabad houses, and large gatherings.
