According to a statement released by the Israel Defense Forces on Monday morning, Israeli soldiers have killed over thirty Hamas terrorists in the Zeitoun neighborhood of Gaza City in the last day. With the 401st Armored Brigade of Israel solidifying its hold over the region, the terrorists were routed. Ground forces carried out an airstrike on a sniper who was sitting on a post in a compound next to the soldiers during one of the operations in Zeitoun, rendering him fatal. In the meantime, tank and sniper fire in Khan Yunis resulted in the deaths of multiple terrorists. A compound where two Hamas terrorists were hiding was also the target of an airstrike by ground forces. It was discovered that the two were carrying multiple weapons after the strike when secondary explosions were discovered.
Additionally, troops conducted a targeted raid on the Hamas infrastructure in Khan Yunis, capturing weapons parts, ammunition, grenades, and military hardware. A number of Hamas terrorists were eliminated in close quarters fighting in different parts of Khan Yunis, and an airstrike eliminated another terrorist who was spotted approaching troops and carrying an RPG. Ten more Hamas terrorists were killed by Israeli forces during clashes in central Gaza. On October 7, Hamas attacked Israeli communities close to the Gaza border, resulting in at least 1,200 deaths and the kidnapping of 240 Israelis and foreigners. Israel has declared 31 hostages out of the remaining 134 to be dead.
