The Israel Air Force (IAF) has carried out a series of strikes targeting numerous operational sites belonging to the Hamas terrorist group in the Gaza Strip. These actions were taken in response to an attack launched by the Hamas group on October 7. In a statement posted on X, the Israeli Air Force stated, “Throughout the night, the IDF conducted strikes on more than a hundred operational sites belonging to various terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the elimination of a terrorist involved in the recent violent activities in the Gaza Strip.”
The Israel Air Force reported that during the operation, Israeli fighter jets successfully targeted and destroyed tunnel entrances, munition depots, and multiple operational command centers. They also reported that a mosque in the Jablia neighborhood, which was being used as an observation post and a gathering point for terrorists associated with Hamas, was among the locations where terrorist infrastructure and weapons were destroyed.
Additionally, the IDF and Shin Bet announced the elimination of a Hamas Naval force terrorist who had been responsible for violent activities in the Gaza Strip. According to the IDF, “In the course of these operations, a terrorist from the naval force of the Hamas terrorist organization, who had been involved in violent activities in the Gaza Strip, was eliminated. Furthermore, a targeted attack prevented a terrorist squad affiliated with the terrorist organization’s air force from launching missiles at an aircraft.”
Meanwhile, senior Israeli officials have discussed the possibility of a large-scale ground operation in the Gaza Strip to dismantle the Hamas terrorist group, as reported by The Times of Israel. Israel’s Defense Minister, Yoav Gallant, conveyed to soldiers near Gaza that the order to enter the Palestinian enclave would be issued “soon.” He encouraged them by saying, “You now see Gaza from a distance, but soon you will see it up close.” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also visited the frontline, addressing a group of Golani soldiers near the Gaza border and expressing confidence in a major victory.
In addition to these developments, the Defense Ministry and the Israel Defense Forces announced plans to relocate residents from the northern city of Kiryat Shmona to government-subsidized accommodations. This move comes in response to repeated rocket and missile attacks by the Hezbollah terror group and other Palestinian factions allied with them, which have been targeting northern Israel.
