Magistrate Booked in Rajasthan for Allegedly Demanding Strip Show from Dalit Rape Survivor

In a shocking incident in Rajasthan’s Karauli district, a magistrate has been booked by the police for allegedly asking a Dalit rape survivor to strip in order to show her injuries. The Deputy Superintendent of Police (ST-SC cell), Mina Meena, revealed today that the survivor had lodged a complaint on March 30, accusing the Hindaun court magistrate of this egregious act.

According to Meena, the survivor refused to comply with the magistrate’s demand and later filed a formal complaint against him. The case has been registered at the Kotwali Police Station under charges of outraging modesty.

This incident has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about the treatment of rape survivors, especially from marginalized communities. It highlights the need for sensitivity and respect in handling such cases within the judicial system. The authorities are now under scrutiny to ensure that justice is served and that survivors are treated with dignity and empathy during legal proceedings.

The magistrate has been booked under section 345 (wrongful confinement) of the IPC and SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act.

As per the police, the woman reportedly experienced rape on March 19, and an FIR concerning the incident was filed on March 27 at Hindaun Sadar Police Station.
