Nikki Haley, a potential candidate for the Republican Presidential nomination in 2024, recently took a dig at the current US President Joe Biden, emphasizing the urgent need for strong leadership in the face of global crises. Haley, a former South Carolina governor and US ambassador to the United Nations, criticized Biden’s handling of various international issues, including Afghanistan, Ukraine, and border security.
In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Haley highlighted that the current chaotic state of affairs could have been avoided if Biden had displayed more robust leadership in Afghanistan, acted swiftly in Ukraine, and demonstrated a more vigilant approach to border security.
The former governor further censured Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s recent remarks, deeming them “irresponsible.” Haley’s criticism was in response to Blinken’s dismissal of any link between the recent Hamas terrorist attack on Israel and the release of USD 6 billion in frozen funds to Iran. Haley contended that the release of these funds could be exploited by hostile entities like Hamas and Iran.
Haley also scrutinized the Biden administration’s Middle East policies, particularly the withdrawal from Afghanistan and the relaxation of sanctions on Iran, leading to an influx of additional funds for hostile purposes.
Having begun her political career as a state representative, Haley has had a formidable journey, being elected as South Carolina’s governor and later serving as the US ambassador to the United Nations. She has recently put forward her candidacy for the Republican Presidential nomination, calling for a shift in leadership within the party.
