At least four terrorists were killed by security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Pakistan’s Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, as reported by ARY News.
The operation took place in Tank district, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, on Saturday. The military’s media wing stated that the IBO was conducted based on intelligence reports regarding the presence of terrorists in the area. During the operation, four terrorists—who were involved in numerous terrorist activities, including abductions—were gunned down. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from them, the ISPR added.
The local population appreciated the security forces’ operation, according to the ISPR, as reported by Dawn.

This operation occurred amid a surge in terrorist activities in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Balochistan, following the end of the ceasefire between the government and the outlawed militant group Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in November 2022.
Earlier, on July 16, Pakistani security forces killed 10 terrorists who attacked Bannu Cantonment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the ISPR stated. The attackers attempted to infiltrate the Bannu Cantonment but were repelled. They then detonated an explosive-laden vehicle against the perimeter wall. Security forces retaliated strongly, killing all the attackers. Eight personnel were also killed in the attack.
The army’s public relations wing noted that the Bannu Cantonment attack was planned by the Hafiz Gul Bahadur group, which is operating from Afghan soil.
