Prince Harry And King Charles’ Rift: The ‘Complete Silence’ Behind Their Severed Ties

Recent reports highlight a deepening rift between Prince Harry and his father, King Charles, which has drawn considerable media attention since the Sussexes stepped back from their royal duties and moved to the US. According to a close friend of the Duke, there is now a “complete silence” between Harry and King Charles, indicating a complete severance of their relationship.

Despite Prince Harry’s quick return to London in February following King Charles’ cancer diagnosis, their relationship has reportedly worsened. The ongoing public family feud, which began when Harry and Meghan Markle left their royal roles in 2020, has remained a significant part of the royal narrative.

Recent updates reveal that King Charles is reportedly giving Prince Harry the silent treatment, which some attribute to Harry’s ongoing legal battles over security. The Duke has been fighting for reinstated security measures for his family, arguing that his wife and children are at risk without police protection in the UK. According to previous reports, Harry feels unsafe in the UK without the necessary police protection.

Harry has made several trips to the UK despite these issues, yet his wife and children have maintained a distance from the royal family. In May, Harry returned for the Invictus Games’ 10th anniversary but did not reunite with his father due to King Charles’ “full schedule,” according to Harry’s spokesperson.

New reports suggest that Harry wanted to meet with King Charles to discuss his security concerns, believing that his father could influence the outcome. However, Buckingham Palace has stated that the decision on security provisions does not rest with the King, as this authority lies with the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (RAVEC), which operates on behalf of the UK government.

Sources also indicate that Harry has faced difficulties reaching his father, with calls about the King’s health and other matters reportedly going unanswered. A royal insider noted, “Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father,” although constitutional powers are limited.

The palace reportedly fears a repeat of the situation with Harry’s mother, the late Princess Diana, who, after leaving the royal family, overshadowed King Charles’ work and became a global icon. This concern may contribute to the strained relationship between father and son.

Nevertheless, a friend of the Sussexes believes the couple felt their only option was to leave the royal spotlight for their mental well-being, hoping to reduce the intense media focus on their lives.
