Qatar committes to host international meetings on Afghanistan

Qatar has reaffirmed its dedication to hosting crucial international meetings concerning Afghanistan, thereby reiterating its unwavering support for the Afghan populace. At the fifty-fifth session of the UN Human Rights Council, Juhara Abdulaziz Al-Suwaidi, Deputy Permanent Representative of Qatar to Geneva, stressed the significance of persisting with these meetings on Afghanistan.

Qatar has consistently served as a pivotal host for major international gatherings on Afghanistan since 2020, contributing significantly to the country’s advancements. The recent Doha meeting and the subsequent signing of the Doha Agreement marked significant milestones, with Qatar’s capital hosting 18 months of negotiations, as per reports by Khaama Press.

The Foreign Ministry of Qatar, in its recent statement, highlighted the importance of communication and enhanced coordination within the realm of human rights promotion, along with ensuring a dignified life for the Afghan people, aligning with its policy to bolster Afghanistan’s progress.

Additionally, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry reiterated its commitment to providing ongoing humanitarian aid to support the Afghan people and continue hosting meetings addressing the nation’s challenges.

Qatar’s role in facilitating dialogues and negotiations to resolve the Afghan conflict has been crucial, fostering an essential platform for discussions and agreements vital for Afghanistan’s stability, as reported by Khaama Press.
