The Kremlin of Russia has accused Kyiv, Ukraine, of a planned terrorist attack on the life of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Several state agencies reported that the Russian government firmly made the allegation on Wednesday.
Although there was no injury sustained by Putin nor any damage by the Kremlin building, The Kremlin still warned that Russia reserves the right to retaliate.
According to a news agency, “the Kremlin has assessed these actions as a planned terrorist act and an assassination attempt on the president on the eve of Victory Day, the May 9 Parade,” adding that Putin had not altered his schedule and was working as normal.
It is also said that Ukraine made a double drone attack that too overnight on the Kremlin. Russia also cleared that Putin is working as per his usual schedule.
The Kremlin provided scant facts and no evidence of the alleged occurrence in its statement.
The alleged encounter occurred while Ukrainian forces were getting ready for a counteroffensive that they hoped would free the area from Russian occupation after Putin launched a full-scale invasion more than a year ago.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, is presently in Finland and will soon be in Germany as he begs for further military aid from Kyiv’s Western allies.
