Russia strikes Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia 17 times an hour

On Friday morning, Russian missile attacks targeted energy facilities in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia, according to The Kyiv Independent, quoting Zaporizhzhia City Council Secretary Anatolii Kurtiev.

According to reports, Russian soldiers hit the city 17 times each hour, the most times Moscow has launched assaults on Kyiv since the war began. According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, Russian soldiers attacked critical infrastructure in Kharkiv before 4:00 a.m. (local time) today, according to The Kyiv Independent.

Officials added that the details of the incident are being clarified. There is currently no information available on casualties in Kharkiv or Zaporizhzhia.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station (ZNPP), located on the left bank of the Dnipro River, is Europe’s biggest nuclear power plant in terms of number of units and production.

Following the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis in February last year, the station and surrounding region were taken over by Russian forces and have since been bombarded many times.

Russia and Ukraine both claim responsibility for the assault.
