Ukraine’s commander-in-chief, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that the air force destroyed 12 of Russia’s more than 20 cruise missiles. They were launched from ground-based launchers and the Caspian Sea, according to him.
According to the military commander, the Air Force shot down six Russian missiles in Kyiv Oblast, five in northern Zhytomyr Oblast, and one in western Khmelnytskyi Oblast.
According to the Ukrainian media source quoting officials, at least one person was killed in Kyiv and at least 28 were injured across Ukraine during the heavy Russian assault.
During the coordinated operation, Russian missiles targeted civilian locations in the centre, south, east, and west of Ukraine.
At least eight major explosions were heard around Kyiv about 2 p.m. (local time). After verifying the death of one person in the western Solomianskyi region, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko issued a warning to inhabitants to seek shelter.
