The incident unfolded on February 26 at the Starfield Anseong Mall in Gyeonggi province, where the woman attempted a bungee jump from a platform approximately eight meters high.
Despite being equipped with safety gear, the woman’s fate took a drastic turn when a carabiner—a crucial safety component—failed to secure properly, leading to her fatal fall onto a concrete floor below. Authorities from the Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police suspect that the detachment of the bungee cord resulted from a defective carabiner cable, which connects the rope to a supporting structure.
