Taiwanese prosecutors are actively probing a Taiwanese company connected to a recent incident involving exploding pagers in Lebanon, which dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah. As part of their investigation, four individuals have been questioned as witnesses.
Security sources have suggested that Israel is behind the explosion of the pagers, heightening tensions in an already volatile situation. While Israel has not confirmed nor denied these claims, the incident has sparked intense scrutiny.

The timeline and method by which the pagers were weaponized and remotely detonated remain unclear. This investigation has extended across multiple countries, including Taiwan, Bulgaria, Norway, and Romania.
Taiwan-based Gold Apollo clarified last week that it did not manufacture the devices involved in the attack. The company noted that BAC, a Hungary-based firm associated with the pagers, held a license to use its brand. Taiwan’s government has also stated that the pagers were not produced in Taiwan.
The Shilin District Prosecutors Office in Taipei, which is leading the inquiry into Gold Apollo, has confirmed that in addition to two individuals questioned previously, they have now spoken with both a current and a former employee as witnesses. A spokesperson stated, “We are processing this case expeditiously and seeking resolution as soon as possible,” but refrained from disclosing the names of those interrogated or indicating if further questioning would take place.
Among those questioned last week were Gold Apollo’s president and founder, Hsu Ching-kuang, and Teresa Wu, the sole employee of Apollo Systems. Gold Apollo has yet to comment on the ongoing investigation and has not responded to additional requests for information. Attempts by Reuters to contact Wu have been unsuccessful, and both individuals remained silent on media inquiries as they left the prosecutors’ office last week.
